Neil Edgar
Neil Edgar is a Senior Project Manager with Edgar & Associates in Sacramento, California. Mr. Edgar is also Executive Director, and co-founder, of the California Compost Coalition, a statewide lobbying coalition that focuses on legislative and regulatory development regarding composting and other organics management options. Mr. Edgar is a member of the United States Composting Council’s Legislative and Environmental Affairs Committee and serves as a policy liaison for the California Organics Recycling Council, a statewide advocacy group dedicated to increasing the sustainable use of recycled organics.
Mr. Edgar has more than a dozen years of experience in all aspects of solid waste management regulatory compliance and facility permitting, joining Edgar & Associates in 2001. Prior to 2001, Mr. Edgar spent over 20 years as a Grocery Manager for Albertson’s, Lucky Stores, and Alpha Beta, involved in all aspects of store operations and personnel supervision, including implementation and oversight of solid waste recycling and energy efficiency programs at multiple locations throughout Northern California.
Mr. Edgar has consulted on over three dozen projects for client companies, specializing in green and food materials recovery, working on issues including technical and financial feasibility, collection options, land use compatibility, site design, operations, grant and loan funding, tipping fee pricing, and market development.
